Solid Beech Dining Chair for Everyday Interiors

The design is deliberately simple: a solid wooden frame, a shaped backrest and a padded upholstered seat. The result is a versatile chair that complements the interior without dominating it.

The padded seat brings softness to the solid wood construction, while the open back keeps the silhouette visually light. It works around a dining table, beside a desk, or as an occasional chair in a bedroom or living space.

Wood is a natural material. Variations in grain, tone and texture are part of its character and make every chair subtly individual.

Soft and Durable Matt Velvet Upholstery

The seat is upholstered in Matt Velvet, a soft-touch velvet with a protective coating that slows liquid absorption and gives time to blot a spill. Available colours: Matt Velvet 09 Taupe, 38 Olive, 59 Red, 74 Navy, 75 Teal, 79 Dark Navy, 97 Dark Grey and 99 Black. Full technical data is in the Construction & Materials section above.

Colours displayed on a computer, tablet or smartphone may differ from the actual fabric. Screen settings, brightness, colour calibration, daylight and artificial lighting all influence how a shade appears.

For this reason we recommend ordering physical fabric samples before selecting the upholstery, particularly when matching the chair to an existing table, flooring, wall colour or other textile.

Choose the Wood Finish

The solid beech frame of The Chair No. 5 is available in 4 lacquered finishes – beech, black, light oak and medium walnut, shown on the swatch above and selectable at the top of this page.

Each finish allows the natural grain of the solid beech to remain visible. As wood is a natural material, subtle variations in grain, texture and tone are expected and make every chair individual.

All finishes come from the same palette we use across our tables, beds and armchairs, so a chair ordered today will match a piece ordered later.

Colours shown on a computer, tablet or smartphone may differ from the final wood finish. Screen settings, lighting conditions and natural differences in the timber all influence how the colour appears. We therefore recommend ordering physical wood stain samples and comparing them in your own interior before ordering the chair.

The choice of upholstery is practically unlimited – we work with the full Davis Fabrics range and other suppliers. If you would like this chair in another fabric, texture or colour, please contact us before ordering.

We will confirm whether the selected material is suitable for this design and provide information about availability, lead time and any additional cost.

Everyday Care

Remove dust from the upholstery with a soft upholstery attachment. If a spill occurs, blot it promptly with a clean, absorbent cloth. Do not rub, soak the fabric or use strong cleaning agents.

Clean the lacquered wooden frame with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry the surface afterwards. Avoid abrasive products, prolonged moisture and direct heat.

Made to Order

Every chair is prepared to order in the selected upholstery colour and wood finish. Standard production time is 2–4 weeks, followed by delivery time to the destination. The chair ships flat-packed with assembly hardware and instructions.

Orders are shipped from Poland, within the European Union. Deliveries within the EU do not require customs clearance. Orders delivered outside the EU may be subject to local import duties, taxes or customs handling charges.
