Custom Japandi Bed Frame Without Headboard
Transform your bedroom into a serene sanctuary with The Bed No. 1 — a minimalist Japandi bed frame without a headboard, created for interiors where natural materials, visual calm and thoughtful simplicity matter.
Each bed is made to order in Europe. Choose from 4 standard mattress sizes, 16 upholstery colours across two materials (Coco woven fabric and Essenza leather-look fabric) and 2 wood finishes. If you need different dimensions, we can manufacture the bed to your individual specification.
Design Philosophy
Less is more. This bed frame embodies the Japandi philosophy — a harmonious blend of Japanese calm and Scandinavian functionality. True luxury is expressed through thoughtful simplicity, careful proportions and a connection with natural materials.
The absence of a headboard is a conscious design choice. It creates visual breathing room, opens up the bedroom and allows the upholstery and wood to become part of the architectural composition.

Materials & Construction
Frame & hardwood legs
The distinctive legs are crafted from solid European hardwood. Select Oak or Stained Oak to coordinate the bed with the flooring, cabinetry and other furniture in your bedroom.
Wood is a natural material. Grain pattern, colour and tonal variation are expected and make every set of legs unique. Screen colours should be treated as a guide rather than an exact representation of the physical finish.

Because natural wood varies in grain and tone, we recommend checking a physical finish sample before ordering.
Coco upholstery
One of the two available materials is Coco, a densely woven upholstery textile with a subtly melanged, multi-tonal surface. The weave combines contrasting yarns, so each colour reads as a soft, natural texture rather than a flat block of colour.
The selected palette includes eight colours: Coco 09, Coco 11, Coco 29, Coco 36, Coco 38A, Coco 53B, Coco 79 and Coco 98.
Please note: upholstery colours may look different on individual screens and under different lighting conditions. We recommend ordering a sample and checking it in the intended room before selecting the upholstery.
Essenza leather-look fabric
The frame is also available in Essenza by Toccare, a leather-look fabric with a polyester surface on a natural-leather backing (70% leather, 30% polyester, manufacturer data). It has a smooth, matt surface that suits the restrained Japandi character of this frame.
The selected palette includes eight colours: Essenza 01 · Light Beige, Essenza 02 · Beige, Essenza 05 · Brown, Essenza 06 · Dark Brown, Essenza 07 · Chocolate, Essenza 08 · Ash, Essenza 09 · Graphite and Essenza 10 · Green.

Small variations in texture and tone between production batches are possible and are not considered defects.
Sizes & Custom Dimensions
Every Japandi bed frame is made to order. The online selector includes the following standard mattress sizes:
- 140×200 cm
- 160×200 cm
- 180×200 cm
- 200×200 cm
Need another size? This custom Japandi bed frame can be manufactured in individual width and length dimensions. Custom sizes are quoted individually and are not selected through the standard product variants.
Contact us before ordering and provide the required mattress width and length. We will confirm feasibility, external frame dimensions, production time and price.
The frame extends approximately 6 cm beyond each side of the mattress:
- 140×200 cm mattress → approximately 152 cm frame width
- 160×200 cm mattress → approximately 172 cm frame width
- 180×200 cm mattress → approximately 192 cm frame width
- 200×200 cm mattress → approximately 212 cm frame width
The technical drawing is provided as a dimensional guide. For a custom-size order, we will confirm the final external dimensions before production.
Manufacturing tolerances may apply to upholstered dimensions.
Personalisation
Configure the bed using three selectors:
- Upholstery colour — Coco woven fabric (09, 11, 29, 36, 38A, 53B, 79, 98) or Essenza leather-look fabric (01, 02, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10).
- For mattress size — 140×200, 160×200, 180×200 or 200×200 cm. The mattress itself is not included. Other dimensions are quoted individually.
- Wood finish — Oak or Stained Oak.
Upholstery colour and wood finish do not affect the standard price. Prices depend on the selected mattress size and frame configuration.

Made to Order & Delivery
Every bed is made to order in Europe. Standard production time is approximately 3–4 weeks, followed by delivery time to the destination.
The bed is shipped flat-packed for safe transport. Assembly hardware and instructions are included.
Orders are shipped from Poland. Deliveries within the European Union do not require customs clearance. Customers outside the EU may be responsible for local import duties, taxes or customs handling charges.
