The Armchair No. 4 is a handcrafted compact lounge chair on solid oak legs, upholstered in Coco by Davis Fabrics – a heavy-weight woven textile with a rich, substantial hand. The slim silhouette and 70 cm depth make it comfortable without dominating a room.
Choose from 11 Coco colourways, each a multi-tone weave rather than a flat colour. Made to order in our Polish workshop.
Design & Comfort
A Compact Armchair with a Deep Seat
No. 4 pairs a narrow 60 cm frame with a 70 cm depth, so the proportions stay modest while the seat remains deep enough for long sitting. The seat sits 45 cm above the floor – low enough to settle into, high enough to rise from without effort.
The 49 cm seat width gives room to shift position, and the upholstered arms are set at a height that supports the forearms while reading or working on a laptop.
Where the Armchair Works Best
At 60 cm wide the armchair suits a small living room, a bedroom corner, a home office, or a hotel room where a wider lounge chair would crowd the floor.
Construction & Materials
Solid Beech and Oak Frame with Coco Upholstery
The inner frame is built from solid beech for strength, while the visible outer frame and legs are solid oak. The seat is suspended on zigzag springs and padded with high-resilience HR foam, which keeps its shape far longer than standard upholstery foam.

Why beech inside and oak outside
Beech is dense and resists the repeated stress a seat frame takes, which makes it the better choice for the hidden structure. Oak is used where the wood is visible – the outer frame and legs – for its harder surface and open grain. At 790 g/m² the Coco upholstery is heavy enough to give the chair mild sound-absorbing properties (class D), which is noticeable in rooms with hard floors.

Coco Upholstery Colours
Eleven Multi-Tone Coco Colourways
Coco is woven from two or more yarn colours, so each colourway reads as a texture rather than a flat shade. The selection runs from quiet neutrals – CO-11 Beige-Black, CO-15 Taupe-Black, CO-87 Grey-White – through to stronger combinations such as CO-36 Green-Orange, CO-52 Orange-Green-Black and CO-53B Yellow-Black.
Each tile in the selector above shows the actual weave, and choosing a colourway updates the product photograph. Screen colours are never exact, so if the shade matters, order a Coco woven fabric sample before deciding.

Looking for a Different Fabric?
The Coco collection is wider than the eleven colourways listed here, and we also upholster No. 4 in other collections – including Venus Velvet, Barrel, Puente, Lincoln and Gava from our other models.

Care & Cleaning
Caring for Your Armchair
Vacuum regularly with a soft brush attachment. Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth rather than rubbing them into the weave. Do not bleach, machine wash or steam the upholstery.
Wipe the oak frame with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry it at once; never leave standing water on the wood. Keep the armchair away from radiators and other direct heat sources, and avoid prolonged direct sunlight.

Frequently Asked Questions
How durable is the Coco upholstery fabric?
Coco is rated at 80,000-90,000 Martindale abrasion cycles with a pilling resistance of 4 and lightfastness of 5, which places it above the level usually considered suitable for heavy domestic use.
Is the Armchair No. 4 suitable for a small living room?
Yes. At 60 cm wide it takes up less floor space than a typical lounge chair, while the 70 cm depth keeps the seat comfortable for long sitting.
What wood is the frame made of?
The inner frame is solid beech, chosen for strength, and the visible outer frame and legs are solid oak. The seat rests on zigzag springs with high-resilience HR foam padding.
Can I see the fabric before ordering?
Yes – we sell 5×5 cm Coco samples so you can check the colour and texture in your own light before committing to a colourway.
Is the armchair delivered assembled?
Yes. No. 4 arrives fully assembled and ready to use; no tools or assembly are required.
Fabric & Wood Samples
See and Feel the Materials Before You Order
Colours on a screen never match the material in your own room. Order a swatch to see the weave, the sheen and the real shade in your own light, next to your floor, walls and other furniture.
The colours in the selector are the ones we keep ready to order, each photographed on this piece. The fabrics we can upholster go far beyond them — velvet, chenille, bouclé, linen, leather composite, or a fabric you supply yourself. If nothing shown is right, contact us before ordering and we will prepare the piece in the material you choose.
